Service Description

There are 60 castles in Argyll, some you can just visit for free but others charge an entry fee. I’ve given options for 2 different routes below so please use this section to see which option you would prefer. We'll take our time exploring, just know you'll be transported into the world of Myths, Legends and Magic! Dunollie Castle (plus amazing coffee and food from the Kettle Café). Allow an hour here (entry fee applies): https://tickets.dunollie.org/#categories Then 10 minutes travel to: Dunstaffnage Castle (we can walk round grounds free). Allow 30 minutes for walking the grounds or one hour if you want to enter the castle (entry fee to the castle applies): https://www.historicenvironment.scot/visit-a-place/places/dunstaffnage-castle-and-chapel/prices-and-opening-times/ Onwards! A 20 minute drive to: Option 1: Castle Stalker (Castle of Aargh from Monty Python's "The Holy Grail"). A very rare private tour may be possible if enough advance notice is given. Allow at least an hour here if we're lucky enough for a private tour, otherwise 30 allow minutes for photos of the stunning view! We could also book lunch or dinner at the incredible Castle Stalker View Café or the insanely good Old Inn - famous for serving the best steaks in the area! or Option 2: St Conan's Kirk. A stunning church and one of the most beautiful buildings in Argyll. Designed and built by Walter Douglas-Campbell. Allow 30 minutes. Then a 10 minute journey to Kilchurn Castle. The powerbase of the Campbells of Glen Orchy and one of the most photographed castles in Scotland.
