Service Description

There are 60 castles in Argyll, some you can just visit for free but others charge an entry fee. On Loch Awe: St Conan's Kirk. A stunning church and one of the most beautiful buildings in Argyll. Designed and built by Walter Douglas-Campbell. Allow 30 minutes. We could also stop in for a wee coffee & cake at the brilliant St Conan's Tearoom https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089699829357 Then a 10 minute journey to Kilchurn Castle. The powerbase of the Campbells of Glen Orchy and one of the most photographed castles in Scotland. Then a short drive to the Main Event - Inverary Castle https://www.inveraray-castle.com/ We hope the website provides an enjoyable and interactive experience summarising the magnificence of Inveraray Castle and the surrounding area. Of course, we cannot hope to bring you the full magic of the castle but hope you will be inspired to visit us soon. Inveraray Castle is first and foremost a family home in which our family has had the great privilege of growing up in. However, its very existence reflects the part played by the Campbells in the rich tapestry of Scottish and British History. The contents of Inveraray Castle span many generations of the family and we hope will give you a glimpse of our heritage and the way our ancestors lived. History can often be lost through the years, but here at Inveraray we have, over the decades, chronicled the past in order to share it with future generations. We have taken great pride in our achievements, yet are conscious of our mistakes, something reflected in our family motto, ‘Ne Obliviscaris'. We hope to welcome you to Inveraray soon!
