9:00 AM - Depart from Oban Start your day by leaving Oban and heading towards your first destination, St Conan's Kirk. Enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful countryside, which will take approximately 30 minutes. 9:30 AM - St Conan's Kirk Arrive at St Conan's Kirk, a stunning church designed and built by Walter Douglas-Campbell. Take your time to explore the intricate architecture and enjoy the serene surroundings. Allow 30 minutes for your visit. 10:00 AM - Kilchurn Castle After your visit to St Conan's Kirk, drive for about 10 minutes to reach Kilchurn Castle. This iconic castle was once the powerbase of the Campbells of Glen Orchy and is one of the most photographed castles in Scotland. Spend 30 minutes exploring its historic ruins and picturesque setting. 10:30 AM - Continue Along Loch Etive Embark on a scenic drive along the picturesque Loch Etive, taking in the breathtaking views of the Scottish Highlands. Enjoy the journey as you make your way towards Inveraray. 11:00 AM - Inveraray Arrive in the charming town of Inveraray, nestled on the shores of Loch Fyne. Here, you'll have the opportunity to explore two key attractions: 11:15 AM - Inveraray Castle Visit magnificent Inveraray Castle, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll. Allow approximately 2 hours for your castle visit, which includes time for both the tour and lunch. You can choose to have lunch either at the castle or in one of the local eateries in Inveraray. Afternoon: 1:30 PM - Auchindrain Historic Township After lunch, drive a further 6 miles to reach Auchindrain Historic Township. This living history site offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and discover Scotland's rural history. Spend time exploring the settlement, walking through restored longhouses, and learning about the past inhabitants' way of life. Allow about 1.5 to 2 hours for your visit. 3:30 PM - Return to Oban Bid farewell to Auchindrain Historic Township and begin your journey back to Oban. Enjoy the scenic drive, reflecting on the rich history and stunning landscapes you've experienced throughout the day. 4:30 PM - Arrive in Oban Return to Oban, concluding your 6-hour tour of Argyll's most beautiful and historically significant sites. Please note that entry fees to Inveraray Castle and Auchindrain Historic Township, as well as food expenses, are not included in the tour price.
